Who's behind YAYstitch and why was it built?

Hi I'm Georgi and welcome to YAYstitch! 👋

Who am I? 🙋‍♀️I'm an Australian 🇦🇺 living in sunny Meanjin/Brisbane. Before YAYstitch, I spent over 10 years as a software engineer in Brooklyn, NYC 🗽, working at GitHub and Slack. YAYstitch is my chance to point all of that at something I love a whole lot more: quilting. 💻

These days you'll usually find me in my sewing studio, adding to a fabric stash that's honestly gotten a little out of hand. 🧵 YAYstitch is really just the two sides of me in one place: the coder and the quilter.

Why did I create YAYstitch? 🤔I created YAYstitch because I believe quilters deserve a digital home that truly understands their craft—and more importantly, a genuinely welcoming space, unlike so many online platforms today. 🏠💕 In a world where social media can feel divisive and draining, YAYstitch is intentionally designed as a positive, creative sanctuary for our quilting community. 🌟Whether you're looking to organize your fabric collection 🧵, browse ideas for your next creation 🎨, or want to connect with fellow quilters ✂️, YAYstitch brings organization and creativity to your quilting world. ✨🪡💖
